As a public organization, the CIAC is dedicated to upholding the security and privacy of personal data while also fulfilling its duty to encourage openness and the free exchange of ideas. The CIAC strives to ensure compliance with Republic Act No. 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and fully supports it and its implementing rules and regulations.
Gathering of Personal Information
Your submission of feedback, inquiries, or requests results in the manual or electronic collection of the following personal information:
- Complete Name
- Electronic Mail Address
- Postal Address
- Contact Number
Utilization of Personal Data Gathered
The personal data that the CIAC gathers will be used, as required or authorized by law, for processing, documentation, and other lawful purposes. Unless it is required for the proper administration of procedures associated with a declared purpose or if the use or disclosure is reasonable, necessary, required, or permitted by law, CIAC will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent.
Website Analytics
When you visit our website, the webserver makes a record of your visit that includes your IP4 addresses (and domain names), browser type and configuration, language settings, operating system, and time/durations of the pages visited within the CIAC website. We use the visitor data to maintain and improve our website, such as to determine the optimal screen resolution, which pages have been most frequently visited, etc. to enhance and optimize the website. We do not use and have no intention of using the visitor data to personally identify anyone.
Safety Procedures
Personal data that has been collected is only processed and accessed by authorized CIAC employees. Personal information will be transmitted and stored electronically and in print format, kept for the duration necessary to comply with internal policies and/or applicable laws, and then securely disposed of at the end of the applicable period.
The Legal Counsel has been appointed the CIAC’s Data Privacy Officer (DPO). The DPO makes sure that the company complies with the Data Privacy Act.
There may be times when CIAC receives personal information even without our request. In these situations, the CIAC will ascertain whether the data relates to any of its legitimate interests and take appropriate action in accordance with its privacy policy. If it is not, the data will be deleted in a way that protects the subject’s privacy.
