Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) President and CEO Atty. Emigdio Tanjuatco III has expressed gratitude to the National Economic and Development Authority Investment Coordination Committee (NEDA-ICC) for the initial approval of the P7.2 Billion Low Cost Carrier (LCC) Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) for Clark International Airport (CRK).
Tanjuatco also expressed gratitude to Congressman Joseller Yeng Guiao for his full support in the development of the Clark Airport.
“The officers and employees of CIAC thank NEDA-ICC and Cong. Yeng Guiao for their continued support for Clark Airport development.”
“We are grateful for the support given by Cong. Yeng Guiao and NEDA-ICC as well as the support of the local government units, the regional development council and the province of Pampanga,” Tanjuatco said.
“The fact that the national government infused P1.2 Billion for airport improvement is an indication of the government’s support through the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC),” he added.
NEDA-ICC last week approved the initial phase for the P1.2 Billion LCC-PTB project for Clark International Airport paving the way for the realization of the project.
Tanjuatco said that the LCC-PTB was designed by the French firm Aeroport De Paris commissioned by the DOTC. The new facility can accommodate by as much as 15 million passengers annually.
“The initial phase of P1.2 Billion LCC-PTB project is set to be presented before the NEDA Board meeting for discussion next week and it would be taken up before President Aquino for approval,” he said.
“Once the president approves it, hopefully the bidding for the project will start by the middle of this year,” Tanjuatco added.
The new facility is expected to boost the development of Clark Airport and “will attract more airlines and investors to operate at the 2,367 hectare Clark Civil Aviation Complex.”
