CLARK FREEPORT (CIAC-CCO)—A total of 114 personnel of the state-run Clark International Airport Corp. recently took the Polymerase chain reaction tests (RT-PCR), at no cost to the employees, according to CIAC president Aaron Aquino.
“This is the first in a series of free quarterly PCR tests for CIAC employees so we’ll be able to help, in our modest way, in curbing
the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace,” Aquino said.
CIAC workers went through monthly tests from June to September last year with the assistance from the local government unit of Angeles City.
The previous tests yielded negative results from COVID-19.
Aquino said he approved in September the realignment and allocation of P600,000.00 as budget to ensure the continuity of regular swab tests and ensure a safe work environment.
The CIAC chief also recommended that all government and private agencies “to do the same to help prevent further transmission and to provide immediate treatment to those found to be carriers of the virus.”
“As a veteran law enforcer, I always remind our staff not to lower our guard as the battle (against COVID-19) is far from over, and to ensure ways to contain the outbreak by applying proactive and appropriate protocols,” Aquino said.
CIAC’s health safety protocols include two sets of skeletal staff reporting weekly for work, daily check-up of employees by in-house nurses, the prohibition of large group gathering, and the set-up of a Client Transaction Area for visitors and stakeholders, he added.
